City Lights

If you see me at midnight

Walking the streets

You'll know it was me for I cannot sleep

I've pushed away the dreams

And spoiled the quiet

So have you been to a place like this?

To see your breath as it paints against the sky

Feeling so right and things will run

The fever is near

I wish you were here

The City Lights - Umbrellas

Today a friend, happy because I was happy, told me she preferred the untamed country to the city; she does not like too many people around and see… I understand her.

I spend a lot of time alone, lost in my thoughts, in my studies, in my books. I love being alone, listening to my music, learning new effects in photoshop, watching a freshly downloaded chapter of my favourite series… Then, how can I dislike the country with such passion, you’d say?

There is not a simple answer, but the city itself. I love the streets of my city: old, narrow and wise streets full of History written with capital letters or new and luminous, full of gardens, parks and children… I love the light of my city, painted by so many artists and never completely reflected… I love the people, noisy and friendly, and how you always can find a kind face amongst the crowd… A city where you can smell the scent of the orange blossoms in the spring and the scent of wet soil when it rains… A city spread on the shore of an ancient Sea, built, century after century, by conquerors and alchemists, kings and warriors, Romans and Visigoths, Moors and Christians…

And at nightfall, when the city lights show us a different face of the buildings and the streets, the time slows-down and it seems the night never will finish…

My friends are here; my life is here. I never feel I’m alone in the city though, like now, there was no one with me.
Yours,
~Evil Spambot~

El 7 de Septiembre

I don’t know why I’ve chosen the title of that old song as the title of my new blog: maybe because it’s September the 5th (yes, random), because it talks about an anniversary or because it’s 3:56 am and my brain is not where it should be… or maybe it is where it should be but not in the best conditions…

All this time I’ve refused to open a blog. I said myself each morning: “No, Evil Spambot,” –E.S. from now- “no… Wait! You have tons of things to do and a blog could distract you more… Your multitasking skills have a limit, be careful…” and then a new day passed without writing all what should be written in a blog.

But today… Today is a day of changes, a day of joy… Tomorrow, if the Goddess Fortune agrees, I’ll be at home, and I’ll be enjoying a decent internet line. From tomorrow, I’ll do more than wasting miserably my time in front of my laptop’s screen.

It’s very late and I should go to bed. Tomorrow I’ll be back. I promise.

I’ll be waiting you
